OPU Sakura festival 2018

The OPU Sakura festival is the annual event in the cherry blossoms season as well as admission time. It is the occasion for citizens and OPU-ers are not only enjoy very beautiful cherry blossoms in OPU but also discover new techniques and researches from various OPU laboratories.

This year, the festival was held on April, 07th. On this event, RSM laboratory introduced to participants some interesting researches and devices from Akiyoshi sensei’s project. What is radiation? How to see it? His devices explain it in a simplest way. Citizens can see radiation in visualization and do experiments by themselves via the cloud chamber. In addition, by using some specific devices, participants also detect radiation existing in foods and natural environment. It means that the natural radiation present harmlessly side by side with human beings daily. By that way, radiation will be understood clearly in the way is not dangerous or strange as they used to think.

In addition, there are some interesting activities in the festival such as foods booth, flower shop, traditional booth and more activities for children.

It is a meaningful and excited event. Now let take a trip around the festival.
